Tasha was born and raised in a small town in the state that is unmistakingly shaped like a mitten surrounded by the Great Lakes. She moved to the sunny state of South Carolina after graduating high school where she will tell you that she enjoys the hot weather, lake, and charm of local people.
During her undergraduate college years she was inducted into the Francis Marion nursing honor society in 2008. She began some of her leadership experiences by serving as a board member, and assisted with chartering the local chapter of Chi Lambda of Sigma Theta Tau International. Tasha completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Francis Marion University in 2009.
She continued to work at a local hospital with general surgery patients, and was cross trained into orthopedics. Tasha has always been willing to learn more and accepted new challenges aiding her move into a nursing float pool where she gained additional experience and caring from the emergency room, newborn nursery, intensive care, and aided in the incorporation of health technologies.
With the experience learned and the introduction of the Affordable Care Act, Tasha knew that she could be so much more and fill the gap of medical care by being an advanced practice provider. She began at South University online in 2012 that afforded her many opportunities such as precepting with a local hospitalist and rural health providers. She was able to see severe disease conditions in an acute setting, as well as learning how to be resourceful and purposeful when caring for underserved communities.
She tested and received her board certification as a family nurse practitioner in early 2015. She has spent numerous hours being trained, and has expanded her skills set with orthopedic office procedures, regenerative medicine with the use of PRP to use with advanced injections and ultrasound technique for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, and even further trained with regenerative treatments for aesthetics.
Through her own medical journey and battling with the many symptoms of fibromyalgia, she was yearning for so much more than traditional medical treatment as she was a medical provider herself. Exploring with the removal of toxic elements, nutritional support, vitamin supplementation and alternative medicine on her ailment, she changed her approach to practicing medicine. While her practice is typically described as conservative with focused support on nutrition and correction of deficiencies, she is also known to offer alternative therapies to prescription medications using her experience from occupational health and performing minimally invasive procedures. .
Where can you find her outside of work? Tasha is always on the go! She wants to experience the most out of life and you will find her outdoors, traveling, and creating fun memories with family and friends.
