How Does it Work?
Each applicator delivers a specific wavelength or spectrum of light into the skin, where it is absorbed by whatever is being targeted. Pigment absorbs it and breaks apart. Hemoglobin inside a small vessel absorbs it and the vessel gently collapses. Hair follicles absorb it and their ability to regrow hair is reduced. Some applicators create a controlled amount of heat deeper in the skin, which prompts the body to build new collagen over the following weeks. Because the energy is selective, surrounding tissue stays largely untouched, which is what keeps downtime short for most treatments.
