Laser Tattoo Removal at One Source Integrative Medicine
Tastes change, relationships change, and sometimes a tattoo just no longer fits who you are. At One Source Integrative Medicine, we offer laser tattoo removal for anyone who wants to fade or fully clear unwanted ink. Whether you are removing a piece completely or lightening it to make room for new work, our providers will walk you through what is realistic for your tattoo and your skin.

What is Laser Tattoo Removal?
Laser tattoo removal uses very short bursts of laser energy to break tattoo ink into fragments small enough for your body to carry away on its own. The energy passes harmlessly through the surface of the skin and is absorbed by the ink particles trapped in the deeper layers. Over the weeks that follow, your immune system clears those fragments, and the tattoo looks progressively lighter. Every tattoo is different, so the number of sessions depends on ink color, depth, age, and where it sits on your body.
Each session lightens the tattoo a little further, giving you a steady, controlled fade rather than an abrupt change.
The laser is tuned so that pigment absorbs the energy while surrounding tissue is largely left alone.
Clear a tattoo completely or lighten it enough for a cover up piece, depending on what you want the end result to be.
Removal is non surgical, so there are no incisions and most people head straight back to their day afterward.
Your provider assesses ink colors, depth, and placement to map out a realistic session schedule before you begin.

How Does it Work?
Tattoo ink sits in the dermis as particles too large for your immune system to remove. The laser delivers energy in extremely rapid pulses, which shatters those particles into much smaller fragments. Your lymphatic system then carries the fragments away over the following weeks, which is why the tattoo continues to fade between appointments rather than all at once. Sessions are spaced out to give your body time to do that clearing work, and darker inks generally respond faster than lighter or multicolored ones.

FAQs
Most tattoos need several sessions spaced a number of weeks apart. Ink color, density, age, and body location all affect how many are needed, and your provider will give you an estimate at your consultation.
Most people compare it to the feeling of getting the tattoo in the first place, quick and stingy. Cooling and topical numbing are used to keep you comfortable.
Redness, mild swelling, and tenderness in the treated area are normal for a few days. Keeping the area clean, moisturized, and protected from sun helps healing and results.
